Fellowships at the Center for Developmental Science The Carolina Consortium on Human Development (CCHD) training program is housed at the Center for Developmental Science, an inter-institutional and interdisciplinary research center that facilitates scholarly dialogue and collaborative research among its students, researchers, and affiliated faculty. The CCHD mentor faculty are involved in joint teaching, supervision and research collaboration. The mentor faculty have been selected from over twenty departments across six participating universities (UNC-CH, Duke University, UNC-Greensboro, North Carolina Central University, North Carolina State University, and Meredith College) and represent a range of disciplines including anthropology, clinical psychology, developmental psychology, education, human development and family studies, nursing, pediatrics, psychobiology, psychiatry, public health, social work, and sociology. Trainees come to this program from various backgrounds and disciplines (including but not limited to social and behavioral sciences, education, and health-related areas) and build on a common interest in development to become interdisciplinary developmental scientists. Applications are considered on a yearly basis, beginning in the winter of each year. The 2-year Postdoctoral and 1-year Predoctoral Fellowships are highly competitive and allow for unique opportunities for the exploration of the theoretical and methodological foundations of developmental science, direct experience in longitudinal research, an application of developmental science to real-world issues, and the facilitation of collaborative training opportunities that extend beyond the usual boundaries of disciplines, departments, and institutions. More specific information about the individual training programs can be found in the links below. Fellowship program links: |
